Suspected muscle strain in the adductor longus of the left thigh. This is the first diagnosis of the injury suffered by Marcell Jacobs during the 100 meters final at the European Championships in Birmingham.
This was communicated by the federal medical director Andrea Billi, after the ultrasound that the Italian underwent today.
«The athlete has begun the physiotherapy process to reabsorb and drain the hematoma – explained Billi -. On Wednesday morning, in Rome, Jacobs will perform an MRI at the CONI Institute of Sports Medicine and Science to complete the diagnosis and decide on any therapeutic path.”
At the moment no information has been provided on Jacobs’ possible participation in the 4×100 meter relay.
