The third gold medal arrives for Italy in swimming at the Mediterranean Games, on a day that brought the Italians thirteen medals (three golds, eight silvers and two bronzes) from the pool discipline.
Noemi Cesarano triumphs in the women’s 1500 freestyle with a time of 16’08″39, ahead of the Greek Artemis Vasilaki (16’22″15) and her compatriot Azzurra Sbaragli (16’30″57). Previously, Benedetta Pilato and Gabriele Mancini had won two golds in the 100 breaststroke, where Lisa Angiolini and Christian had instead grabbed silver Mantegazza.
