The initial collapse that triggered the inferno of rubble most likely occurred on the first floor. A pillar in the basement literally bent forward towards the sea, evidently crushed by the weight of the collapse. The spans, i.e. the distances between one pillar and another, were 10 metres. And this may have been an excessive length, also considering the “Plastbau” construction type.
These appear to be the very first elements of evaluation by the experts after the technical inspection among the rubble of the Pistunina building, which collapsed on 30 July. A disaster that caused six victims.
It is clear that there is nothing official yet, we will have to wait for the super-expertise of the three consultants appointed by the Prosecutor’s Office. But since the first step of checks more than one insider has made these assessments on the causes of this tragedy.
On Thursday morning the inspection of the area was underway and the fire brigade commander Michele Burgio while everyone was in the basement, the one where the garage is located so to speak, which cannot be seen from the street, pointed out to everyone that one of the pillars on the sea side was bent forward, that is, the firefighters found it literally bent forward, while all the other pillars in the basement were intact.
