Also this year there is a plus sign for tourist presences in the city of Crotone. From the data provided by the PayTourist platform, it appears that as of 31 August 2026, 69,234 presences were registered in the area, distributed in 197 accommodation facilities, compared to 54,494 presences on the same date last year.
Analyzing the data based on the payment of the tourist tax, therefore corresponding to real presences in the area, (the many rented houses that do not pay the tax and therefore operate illegally are not counted) it is above all families who decide to choose Crotone. In fact, families represent 55.36% of visitors, followed by groups (25.43%), while in third place we find single travelers (19.21%).
The age range is very varied: there is not one that prevails, with the exception of children between 0 and 13 years old, who are 9.79%, confirming the fact that the city of Pythagoras is of interest above all to families. Behind children there are two other groups that support the “families” figure: at 9.64% there are adults between 49 and 53 years old, and then at 9.47% those between 44 and 48 years old.
