«The management of the third body of water within the port of Catanzaro officially begins today, entrusted to our in-house company Catanzaro Servizi. With this activation we are making 90 berths available to the nautical community and yachtsmen, completing a strategic step in the work of strengthening and valorising the infrastructure of the maritime district”. The mayor of Catanzaro, Nicola Fiorita, stated this in a note

«When we settled, the port was an infrastructure abandoned to itself and without boats. We had to overcome many difficulties, some predictable, others arising during construction. Today there are 310 boats present, in addition to the 90 boats that will be hosted on the piers managed by Catanzaro Servizi.

This achievement is not an isolated episode, but is part of a systemic vision and a package of concrete interventions that have affected the entire port area: from the lighting of the waterfront, to the awarding of the hauling, launching and storage areas, up to the use of the area that hosted the major musical events”.

The operational start-up of the mooring stations, for Fiorita, represents a «step with profound strategic value for the future of the company. This assignment is fully included among the fundamental pillars of the process of negotiated settlement of the crisis that Catanzaro Servizi is carrying out under the supervision of the Court of Catanzaro. It is precisely the concrete activation of new production services and the ability to generate new corporate value that guarantees the sustainability of the Industrial Plan and the safeguarding of operational continuity and employment levels.

Having done everything we could on the existing one, we are now taking on the great challenge of the new port of Catanzaro, which we hope will have a decisive turning point in the coming months with the publication of its tender”.
