The Messina actor Maurizio Marchetti, a beloved face of cinema and TV, is one of the winners of the Stenterello Film Festival in Florence, which like every year offers a rich program of events and many dedicated prizes. Now in its tenth edition, the Festival has become a reference event for Italian comedy, a genre that the Festival defends, enhances and promotes as the central axis of contemporary national cinema. The festival will end tomorrow with the award ceremony for the film chosen from those in competition.
After the screening of «Che Dio pardon a tutti», Pif’s latest film, Maurizio Marchetti – who in the film plays Luigi, father of Flora, the girl with whom the protagonist falls in love – received the Excellence Award, with the following motivation: «He has built a career that naturally crosses cinema, television and theatre, always standing out for an elegant, measured and never over the top acting. His interpretative style combines sensitivity, rigor and authenticity, giving life to credible and deeply human characters. Directed by directors such as Sergio Rubini, Aurelio Grimaldi and Pif, and protagonist of highly successful productions such as Inspector Montalbano, Squadra Antimafia and Don Matteo, Marchetti was able to tackle dramatic and comic roles with the same effectiveness, giving each interpretation an unmistakable personality.
