The condition of the 19-year-old boy who was hit in the evening between Monday and Tuesday at Terme Vigliatore in Marchesana remains very serious. The young man is hospitalized at the university “Policlinico” of Messina in intensive care and with a reserved prognosis due to the bad head trauma. The 19-year-old was hit by a scooter driven by another young man, the impact was extremely violent. However, the driver of the vehicle is not in danger of his life. The police intervened on the scene, carrying out investigations and investigations to reconstruct the dynamics. It seems, in fact, that a clandestine competition between young people was being held, all evidenced by a video. In the images you can see numerous people on the sides of the road, free from traffic, while some vehicles pass by at high speed.

The municipal administration of Terme Vigliatore intervened on the subject this morning, expressing “deep closeness to the two young people who were seriously injured in the accident that occurred last night on the Marchesana seafront, to their families and to all the people who are living these hours with apprehension. Our thoughts go out to both young people. We wish both young people a speedy and complete recovery”.

“The dynamics of the incident – we read – is still being examined by the Carabinieri company of Terme Vigliatore, who are trying to reconstruct the facts and ascertain possible responsibilities. In this regard we make an appeal to those who were present: anyone who has information or useful images should collaborate with the police. We are far away and we absolutely condemn risky racing or maneuvers with mopeds or other types of vehicles which take place on public roads and which can lead to (as happened last night) even serious consequences. We invite everyone to categorically avoid these actions aimed at endangering their lives and those of others. Since there has been word that a new gathering of young people is being planned for the same purpose of races or games with mopeds in the street, we felt it was our duty to inform the police, who will preside over the area to prevent new episodes and punish any perpetrators. We are with and for young people, we are for moments of aggregation and sharing but we certainly do not accept or agree with this way that some show to have fun. The Marchesana seafront is not a racing track. And a night of celebration cannot turn into a night of tragedy and pain. We will follow the evolution of what happened with the utmost attention and we will act with firmness, responsibility and continuity.
