New technical investigations are underway in Gallico, a hamlet north of Reggio Calabria, at the request of the DDA of Reggio Calabria, directed by Giuseppe Borrelli, as part of the investigation into the murder of Pasquale Chindemi, killed on 15 February 2018, a crime committed in the circles of the ‘Ndrangheta.
Carabinieri specialized in scientific investigations are engaged on site and are carrying out a series of surveys through the use of new anthropometric detection technologies.
Investigations that could give a turning point to the investigations and contribute to the identification of those responsible for the crime in which the brother of Mario Chindemi, who later became a collaborator of justice, was killed. During the operations, the military reconstructed the crime scene, also by positioning some people in the places of the murder, carrying out long and detailed measurements.
The objective of the investigators would be to reconstruct the dynamics of the ambush with greater precision and verify, through new technological tools, elements acquired during the investigations. The methods with which the investigations were carried out suggest that the police are working on precise indications regarding the people who could have played a role in the Chindemi murder. The new findings could therefore represent a decisive step towards the reopening of investigations into a crime which has so far remained without perpetrators.
