“Finally the Celeste stadium is usable”. Mayor Federico Basile announced it: “Today a complex process that began two years ago ends which has allowed us to bring the historic facility back to the conditions necessary to welcome the public again.”
The Municipal Supervisory Commission expressed a favorable opinion on the usability for 4,900 spectators, divided as follows: 2 thousand seats in central Grandstand A, 2,700 in the South Curve and 200 seats in the guest sector.
“22 years after Messina’s promotion to Serie A match – adds the mayor -, the stadium will be reopened on Sunday with the debut match of the Eccellenza championship between Messana Riviera and Athletic Gioiosa. The Celeste comes back to life. And with it another piece of Messina’s sporting history comes back to life”.
