The regional council is preparing to deal with the delicate dossier of the appointments of health managers. In fact, a meeting is scheduled in the next few hours in which, probably, the new leaders of some of the most important healthcare companies will be designated. Among these there is certainly the Aou “Dulbecco” of Catanzaro. The two hospitals of the capital – the historic “Pugliese” and the Policlinico di Germaneto – should continue to be led by Simona Carbone, until now extraordinary commissioner of the Aou itself. A choice, that of still focusing on the manager of Cosenza origins, dictated above all by the need to ensure stability in the complex process of unification of the two large structures existing in the regional capital.
Also in Catanzaro we are waiting to know who will be Antonio Battistini’s successor at the helm of the ASP. The retired Army general has so far remained in office thanks to the provisions of a Calabrian law which allows the appointment of commissioners, for 5 years following the dissolution of healthcare companies due to mafia infiltration, even profiles not included in the national lists of suitable candidates.
