He would have shown up at his ex-partner’s house, in a state of alteration and with the pretext of taking away his minor daughter, starting to threaten her. This is what happened yesterday afternoon in Villafranca Tirrena, in the Messina area, where the police arrested a 47-year-old man in flagrante delicto, held responsible for mistreatment in the family and persecutory acts.
The intervention was triggered after the woman’s report, concerned about the presence of her ex-partner and about some previous episodes of violence which had already led to the activation of the emergency procedures envisaged by the Red Code.
The commander of the Carabinieri station of Villafranca Tirrena immediately reached the indicated location together with a patrol from the nearby Saponara station. The military tracked down the 47-year-old while, according to what investigators reconstructed, he was threatening his ex-partner. The man was in a state of alteration which, according to initial assessments, may have been caused by alcohol intake. The investigations by the police also made it possible to reconstruct the previous events that had affected the couple.
Based on the elements collected and investigative insights, the military proceeded with the flagrant arrest. The 47-year-old was then transferred to the Messina Gazzi prison, where he was made available to the judicial authorities
