«At least a third of the parliamentarians will be elected directly by the citizens through preferences. According to a simulation by the YouTrend institute, the share of those elected with preferences could reach 43%, going well beyond the threshold of one third of the total. I too would have preferred that at least two thirds of the parliamentarians were elected directly by the voters, reserving a minority share for the party secretariats to bring figures unrelated to territorial dynamics and balances into Parliament. But, as is often said, the excellent is the enemy of the good. This is a good law, even if it is not a perfect law.”
«I must recognize Giorgia Meloni – continues De Luca – for having broken the perverse logic of “appointed” parliamentarians, who answer exclusively to the bosses who chose them, not caring about their territory of origin. In forty years of politics I have always been elected by the citizens and I have never held roles deriving from appointments.
