There is a reality that is redefining relations between Italy and North America, positioning itself as a value and operational bridge for the Third Sector between the two sides of the Atlantic. It is the Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation, the result of the dedication of the Calabrian entrepreneur Francesco Augurusa, who now lands in New York with the opening of the first international headquarters in the Big Apple. A strategic presence in the heart of Manhattan, at 551 on 5th Avenue, to bring together the great American interlocutors who are looking at the projects of the Augurusa Foundation with curiosity and admiration, ready to share its social mission and support its Generative Restitution models.
The inauguration of the first overseas office represents the culmination of a long relational work carried out in recent years by the Foundation and its President on North American territory with the diplomatic network, the business world and the great US philanthropy. The new headquarters will allow the Augurusa Foundation to easily bring together large American donors who have chosen to direct their philanthropic investments towards the creation of local projects and the development of Italian operations through the dedicated tool of the Augurusa Foundation American Friends Fund, managed in partnership with Myriad USA. At the forefront, projects for education and social inclusion dedicated to Southern Italy.
The achievement of the New York office is the result of a three-year agenda full of high-profile meetings that the Augurusa Foundation held as a delegation in the main hubs of the United States. From Boston to New York, passing through Chicago and Washington. A path that found the full and convinced applause of the Italian Ambassador to the United States Marco Peronaci in the meeting with the President Francesco Augurusa and the Coordinator of the Board of Trustees, as well as Economic Advisor to the Presidency of the Council, Renato Loiero. The Ambassador expressed his warm appreciation for the laudable initiative, confirming the maximum support of Italian diplomacy to facilitate the establishment of the Foundation on American territory and encourage the concrete application of its Generative Restitution models.
No less incisive were the meetings in Chicago and Washington which took place together with the spiritual guide of the Foundation Father Anthony Pizzo, former Prior of the Augustinians of the Midwest and dear friend of the Holy Father Leo XIV. Among these, participation in the Gala for the 50th anniversary of the NIAF (National Italian American Foundation) last autumn and the meeting with the President of the NIAF Robert Allegrini to initiate operational synergies, which was followed by the meeting with the Consul General of Italy in Chicago Mario Bartoli.
To testify to the strategic value of the Foundation’s North American establishment, the Consul General of Italy in Boston, Arnaldo Minuti, spoke directly and declared: «With great pleasure we welcome the project to expand the activities of the Augurusa Foundation in this district, whose action represents a fundamental value and operational bridge between Italy and the United States, which will strengthen the ties between the two countries. Here in Boston there is an Italian community with an extraordinary human, academic and entrepreneurial profile which, I am sure, will be able to offer an important contribution to the growth of this initiative.” The Italian Consulate in Boston had already reserved the right to show its support for the Augurusa Foundation by taking part, last June, in the free higher education program Green Social Impact Manager, which saw the entry into the teaching staff of Professor Paolo Gaudenzi, Advisor for the Scientific Area of the diplomatic headquarters.
Models such as Virtus Lab and Social Impact Manager therefore demonstrate that generative social impact is a universal language, capable of uniting American business culture with the redemption of our territories. «From the first discussions with overseas entrepreneurs and philanthropists, a very strong interest emerges in the models that the Augurusa Foundation applies in Italy focused on education, free training and work inclusion of vulnerable young people, particularly in Southern Italy», underlined Francesco Augurusa.
