Railway traffic still significantly slowed down on the Tyrrhenian line in Calabria, between Nocera Terinese and Lamezia Terme Centrale, due to a technical problem with the electricity line. According to the latest update from Trenitalia, at 10.30pm, High Speed, Intercity and Regional trains can record a longer travel time of up to 90 minutes, while Regional trains may suffer route limitations or cancellations. The convoys that were involved in the previous hours accumulated delays of up to 240 minutes.
From suspension to slowdown
The inconveniences began at 12 today, September 25, when traffic was suspended between Nocera Terinese and Lamezia Terme Centrale for technical checks on the power line. At 6.10pm Trenitalia announced that traffic had resumed, but was significantly slowed down.
Frecciarossa canceled or limited
The FR 8333 Roma Termini (7.29) – Reggio Calabria Centrale (1.14pm) ends the journey in Campora: passengers can use the replacement service with a specially prepared bus. The FR 9588 Reggio Calabria Centrale (10.02) – Torino Porta Nuova (21.05) is canceled between Falerna and Roma Termini: passengers departing from Paola can use the FR 9658 Reggio Calabria Centrale (12.04) – Milano Centrale (21.00), which today also stops in Florence Campo Marte; those heading to Torino Porta Susa and Torino Porta Nuova can use it up to Milano Centrale. The FR 8868 Reggio Calabria Centrale (14.13) – Roma Termini (20.16) originates from Campora: passengers departing from Reggio Calabria Centrale, Villa San Giovanni, Gioia Tauro, Rosarno, Vibo Valentia and Lamezia Terme Centrale can use the FR 8332 Reggio Calabria Centrale (15.45) – Roma Termini (21.20), which today also stops at Vallo della Lucania and Scalea.
Intercity, inconveniences also on trains to and from Sicily
The IC 734 Siracusa (7.43) – Roma Termini (18.34) ends the journey in Lamezia Terme: passengers can continue with the EXP 37484 Lamezia Terme Centrale (18.00) – Roma Termini (23.28). The IC 724 Siracusa (10.25am) – Rome Termini (9.34pm) ends the journey at Villa San Giovanni: those leaving from Villa San Giovanni and Gioia Tauro can use the FR 8332; from Lamezia Terme Centrale, Paola, Sapri and Salerno EXP 37484; from Napoli Centrale and Latina the R 21038 Napoli Centrale (8.45pm) – Rome Termini (11.40pm). The IC 723 Roma Termini (7.26) – Palermo Centrale (19.04) ends the journey in Paola.
The IC 560 Reggio Calabria Centrale (14.21) – Roma Termini (22.34) is cancelled: from Villa San Giovanni and Gioia Tauro you can use the FR 8332; from Lamezia Terme Centrale, Amantea, Paola, Diamante, Scalea, Praja, Maratea, Sapri, Pisciotta, Vallo della Lucania, Agropoli, Paestum, Battipaglia and Salerno EXP 37484; from Napoli Centrale and Latina the R 21038. The IC 564 Reggio Calabria Centrale (7.57) – Lecce (16.21) ends the journey in Lamezia Terme Centrale, with possible continuation on the IC 562 Villa San Giovanni (11.52) – Bari Centrale (19.56). The IC 556 Reggio Calabria (9.57) – Rome Termini (17.34) travels as EXP 37484 and also stops in Diamante. The IC 566 Lecce (11.36) – Reggio Calabria Centrale (19.50) ends the journey in Sibari, the IC 555 Roma Termini (14.26) – Reggio Calabria Centrale (22.33) in Napoli Centrale.

Tuscany, traffic suspended between Rignano sull’Arno and Pontassieve
Disruptions also on the Florence-Rome line. According to Trenitalia’s update at 10.30pm, traffic remains suspended between Rignano sull’Arno and Pontassieve for investigations following the derailment of a freight train. Intercity and Regional trains may be subject to delays, Regional trains may also be subject to route limitations or cancellations. Bus routes for regional connections are active.
The EC 294 Roma Tiburtina (18.10) – Tarvisio Boscoverde – München Hauptbahnhof (9.29) is routed from Rome to Bologna on the alternative route via Pisa and stops in Firenze Castello instead of Firenze Campo Marte. Passengers departing from Firenze Campo Marte can use the R 18978 Borgo San Lorenzo (20.43) – Firenze Santa Maria Novella (22.04) up to Firenze Santa Maria Novella, then the R 17852 Firenze Santa Maria Novella (22.22) – Bologna Centrale (23.50) up to Firenze Castello, where they can continue with the EC 294. The IC 584 Trieste Centrale (8.45) – Rome Termini (20.05) records a longer journey time of more than 60 minutes.
