He had just served a sentence for attempted robbery and bodily harm when he was taken into care by the staff of the Immigration Office of the Catanzaro Police Headquarters. The man, a foreign citizen irregularly present on the national territory, was then accompanied to the Repatriation Detention Center in Potenza, in view of the subsequent repatriation. Upon release from prison, the agents began investigations and procedures regarding immigration. The checks revealed that the man had already been reported to the police for aiding and abetting prostitution, drug dealing, attempted robbery and personal injury.
At the end of the investigation, the Catanzaro police commissioner ordered detention pursuant to article 14 of the Consolidated Law on Immigration, as the conditions for the execution of the expulsion order were met. Once the formalities were completed, the State Police personnel accompanied the man to the Potenza facility, where he was entrusted to the operators for the time necessary to carry out the procedures required for repatriation.
The intervention is part of the control and monitoring activities of the Immigration Office of the Catanzaro Police Headquarters on the application of the legislation on residence.
