«Outside the city of Reggio Calabria, in the other 70 municipalities of the constituency, Domenico Giannetta collects 5,204 votes and reaches 14.66%, against the 7.62% obtained in the capital. It means that Futuro Nazionale, in the territory outside the city, well exceeds the double digits and concentrates 5,204 of the 8,226 votes obtained overall, equal to approximately 63.3% of its electoral consensus”. This is what is explained in a note signed by Paolo Ferrara (president of UniReggio ed.) – Committee 1332 Reggio Calabria National Future.
As for the city of Reggio Calabria alone – observes Ferrara – “in the regional elections of October 2025 in the capital 52.49% of those entitled to vote went to the polls and Giannetta collected 1,603 votes. In the by-elections of September 2026 the turnout fell to 28.54%. In a city in which only 40,391 voters out of 141,519 Domenico Giannetta collected 3,022 votes, equal to 7.62%. If we compare the two citizen data, Giannetta therefore goes from 1,603 to 3,022 votes: 1,419 more votes, equal to an increase of 88.52%, while the share of eligible voters who went to the polls went from 52.49% to 28.54%. is reduced by 23.95%”.
«The electoral results do not need to be magnified or reduced: they need to be studied», says Ferrara. «The center-right won clearly and this fact must be recognized. Similarly, 8,226 votes and 10.94% represent the result achieved by Futuro Nazionale in its first electoral verification. If we want to compare it with previous consultations, we must do it correctly: same territories, same municipalities and, above all, taking into account the profound differences in voter participation”, he underlines.
