Budget balances in Crotone: spotlight on the 24 million claimed by Sorical

On the one hand there are the disputes with Sorical for a total amount of 24,325,232.27 euros which could fall, in whole or in part, on the coffers of the Municipality of Crotone. On the other hand, the “problem” linked to the failure to reconcile credits and debts between the organization and Akrea, the investee company responsible for collecting urban waste.
These are the two main alarm bells that the board of auditors highlighted in expressing a favorable opinion on the control of the financial balances of the Municipality for the first half of 2026.
The document, drawn up by the financial sector and adopted on 29 September by the council led by mayor Vincenzo Voce, found no “critical issues that could compromise” the balance of the Palazzo di Piazza della Resistenza accounts in the first six months of the year. But the auditors’ attention was focused on the four legal proceedings initiated by Sorical against the Municipality for non-payment of water supplied in the past.
