Extraordinary checks on State Road 106 to increase traffic safety and combat the riskiest driving behaviors. On the morning of Wednesday 30 September, the carabinieri of the Sellia Marina Company carried out a detailed service along the stretch of the state road between the municipalities of Simeri Crichi, Sellia Marina, Cropani, Botricello and Belcastro.
The activity is part of the plans prepared by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Catanzaro and affected one of the main arteries of the coastal strip, frequently affected by road accidents. About twenty soldiers carried out various checkpoints along the SS 106.
Overall, 48 vehicles were checked and 60 people were identified. Five motorists were administratively sanctioned for having carried out dangerous overtaking while driving their vehicles. The fines amount to a total of 415 euros. The operation is part of the prevention activity carried out by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Catanzaro to combat violations of road traffic regulations and reduce the risks for motorists. The checks will continue in the next few days in various areas of the province, with the aim of strengthening prevention activities and reminding road users to be more cautious when driving.
