The Engineering-MIFT 2026 Recruiting Day took place yesterday in the Aula Magna of the Polo Papardo, the initiative promoted by the University of Messina to encourage the meeting between the university world and the world of work. The day involved undergraduates and recent graduates from the Departments of Engineering and Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences and Earth Sciences (MIFT), recording significant participation: over 600 students and graduates took part in the event, with more than 350 one-to-one selection interviews carried out by the companies present.

There were 40 participating companies, which presented a total of 94 sought-after professional profiles, while 1,085 curricula were sent to the companies in view of interviews and professional placement opportunities. The initiative represented an important opportunity for direct meetings between companies and undergraduates and graduates, offering participants the opportunity to learn about job opportunities, interact with companies and start new professional paths.

During the interviews, the companies had the opportunity to meet and evaluate young talents with skills in numerous fields: from Engineering to Technology, from Renewable Energy to Sustainability, from Mechanics to Transport and Logistics, up to industrial and digital applications, Electronics and numerous other sectors. The Vice-Rectors Antonino Germanà and Marina Trimarchi and the Directors of the Engineering and MIFT Departments spoke at the inauguration of the day, underlining the value of work orientation and connection initiatives between the University and the production system.

The Recruiting Day is part of the activities that the University dedicates to the placement and accompaniment of students and graduates towards the world of work, through meeting opportunities with companies, professional orientation initiatives and paths aimed at promoting greater knowledge of the skills required by the job market. The high participation recorded and the number of companies and professional profiles involved confirm the value of these events as concrete tools to strengthen the dialogue between university education and the productive world and create new professional opportunities for young people.
