Positive debut for Matteo Arnaldi in the main draw of the Rolex Shanghai Masters, the penultimate ATP Masters 1000 of the season, staged on the hard courts of the Qi Zhong Tennis Center in the Chinese metropolis. The Ligurian player, number 38 in the world, defeated the Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic, number 185 in the international ranking, in the first round with a score of 6-3 6-1.
