Tesla boss Elon Musk has unveiled a car that he says will be able to fly, in a sequence reminiscent of a science fiction film. The futuristic vehicle, called ‘Roadster’, is equipped with thrusters inspired by those of SpaceX rockets.
The presentation event, broadcast live online, was held in Texas, in front of an audience of guests. In a spectacular maneuver, the car – without a driver – took off from a launch pad and made a complete turn in the air before landing on its own wheels, thanks to the help of its retrorockets. “Apparently, the future will be made of flying cars,” commented Musk.
