Marc Marquez on a Ducati won the Sprint Race of the Australian GP and thus returns to the championship lead after Jorge Martin’s crash. He was second behind him. Fernandez, Vinales, Zarco and Bagnaia are also out. Also on the podium were his brother Alex Marquez and Di Giannantonio, with Marco Bezzecchi coming back 4th.
The Spaniard thus moves up to +10 in the standings over Martin, who crashed during the 8th lap and was transferred to the medical center of the Phillip Island circuit. Urgent radiographic tests – Aprilia announced – showed a fracture of the radius and a suspected fracture of the right ulna in the distal area. Martin will be subjected to further tests in the next few hours, for a definitive evaluation of the situation. The driver will not participate in tomorrow’s race.
