The podium does not quench Lewis Hamilton’s anger. After the contact at the start of the Mexican Grand Prix with teammate Charles Leclerc, the Briton returns to the episode and asks for clarification within Ferrari. For him, it was precisely in that phase of the race that the possibility of winning disappeared. «It wasn’t meant to be to win today. Now we need to figure out what to do better behind the scenes,” says Hamilton. The point, in his words, also concerns what was agreed before the start: «Before the race we also talked about this case, what we would have done if this had happened». A situation which, according to the pilot, requires a direct confrontation with Leclerc: “The episode made us lose the victory, now we need to have a serious discussion behind the scenes with Charles.” The disappointment at the missed result is therefore accompanied by the request to clarify the management of the duels between the two Reds.

The praise for the team and the expectations for 2027

However, Hamilton distinguishes the controversy over the comparison on the track from the judgment on the team’s work. «We did a fantastic job, also considering the difficulties of the engine», he underlines, recognizing Ferrari’s commitment. Our gaze is already turned to next season, with the request for a step forward on the competitiveness front: «With this car I hope to have a better engine next year to fight with my adversaries. I trust in my team to have a more competitive car to fight in 2027.”
