He traveled on his motorbike along State Road 18 at over 200 kilometers per hour, on a stretch where the limit is 50, and published videos of his rides on social media. A motorcyclist was identified and sanctioned by the carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Villa San Giovanni Company, at the end of the investigations started after a road check in Scilla.
The high-speed passage in Chianalea
The facts date back to October 25th. A patrol, engaged in a territorial control and road safety service, noticed a motorbike passing at extremely high speed on the SS 18 “Tirrena Inferiore”, near the Chianalea hamlet. Considering the speed of the passage and the dangerous situation, the military avoided sudden maneuvers that could have compromised traffic safety. They then started investigations to trace the license plate and owner of the vehicle, quickly identifying the driver.
Checks on social media and sanctions
While checking his social media channels, the police found other videos in which the motorcyclist was traveling along the same stretch of State Highway 18 at speeds exceeding 200 km/h, compared to the limit of 50. The checks thus revealed further dangerous conduct for the driver and for motorists and pedestrians in transit along the coast. The young man was charged with violations of the Highway Code, with the application of the relevant financial and additional sanctions. The intervention is part of the services to prevent and combat risky driving arranged by the provincial command of the Carabinieri of Reggio Calabria.
