Messina returns to the “Celeste”, dominates and tames Mazzarrone with a 1-0 which is close to the Giallorossi. The team was “angry” after the recent penalty and, in the first useful match, they immediately canceled the -3 in the standings by restarting with a performance of character and determination. Messina was also unlucky with injuries to Blondett and Theodore at the start of the two halves.
All Peloritan opportunities with Kragl and Doni twice, but they just miss the target, while for Mazzarrone Bamba’s diagonal shot is the only real conclusion of the match and ends up wide. At 41′ the first turning point with the red light for Randis (forbidden shot to Theodore) and in the second half Messina showed up with two strikers (on Varela) and increased the pace again. Overhead kick by Bonanno, just over, header by Sarao, deflected for a corner, but in the 63rd minute the goal arrives: left-footed shot from distance by Bonanno, Sarao is on the path and wrong-foots the goalkeeper for the 1-0 which decides the match. Bonanno and Sarao again come close to doubling their lead, while Mazzarrone closes with 9 men for the red card for Spadaro. At the final whistle celebration at the “Celeste” for a deserved victory and on Wednesday the Giallorossi go to Scordia to qualify for the Cup. Before the match, whistles for the mayor Basile and the councilor Massimo Finocchiaro.
