A 55-year-old man was arrested by the police in Isola Capo Rizzuto on charges of persecuting his father, an 82-year-old pensioner. A precautionary custody order under house arrest was carried out against him, issued by the investigating judge of the Crotone court at the request of the local prosecutor’s office. The military’s investigations began when the elderly parent showed up at the Isola Capo Rizzuto carabinieri barracks bleeding and with a visible stab wound on his wrist. The man reported that his son had attacked him with a glass pane at the height of yet another argument that broke out for trivial reasons. Given the sensitivity of the matter, the Carabinieri provided immediate support to the elderly man, activating the procedure provided for by the so-called code red. On this occasion, the military also proceeded with the immediate withdrawal of the weapons held by the worker in order to prevent further risk situations. The Carabinieri investigators then reconstructed the entire family affair, documenting the serious indications of guilt against the son and demonstrating the urgent need for precautionary measures to protect the victim. The findings were implemented by the judicial authority, culminating in the issuing of the precautionary measure. At the end of the ritual formalities, the man was accompanied to his home, where he will have to serve the measure of house arrest.
