Palazzo Sersale is preparing to welcome the School of Jazz and Pop of the “Stanislao Giacomantonio” Conservatory of Cosenza. The agreement signed yesterday, 6 November, strengthens the collaboration with the Municipality of Cerisano and expands the educational activities of the village, where the arrival of around one hundred students per day is expected.
The new agreement follows the path started in January with the inauguration of the technological and research center for music and audiovisual. Created as part of the Cerisano Factory – Borgo Swing project, with resources from the Pnrr, the hub has spaces equipped for recording, sound production, dubbing and artistic experimentation.
The continued presence of students and teachers could also have repercussions on commercial activities, catering and hospitality. A prospect that will require attention to services and connections with Cosenza and the nearby municipalities.
«We don’t want a village that comes alive only during events, but a community that thrives on culture, training and work throughout the year», underlines Mayor Di Gioia. The administration’s objective is to transform investments in historic buildings into lasting opportunities for study and work.
For the director of the Perri Conservatory, the arrival of the School will allow for further integration of teaching, research and musical production. «Our goal is to build a place where students can not only acquire skills, but also participate in projects, workshops and opportunities for artistic production, contributing to the cultural growth of the area».
The agreement is part of Cerisano’s musical vocation, also cultivated through the Festival delle Serre, and aims to make Palazzo Sersale a popular place throughout the academic year.
