The main stage of the Tomorrowland music festival, near Antwerp, in Belgium, was completely destroyed by a fire yesterday, one day before the arrival of thousands of lovers of electronic dance music at the event. According to what reported by the Guardian, who cites the organizers, there were no injuries, and the Festival will take place any weekend anyway. The images shared on local news sites and on social media showed flames and columns of black smoke that enveloped the stage and spread in the nearby woods.

“Due to a serious accident and a fire in Tomorrowland, our beloved main stage was seriously damaged,” the organizers wrote on the event website. “We can confirm that no one was injured during the accident”. In the declaration it is stated that attention is now paid to the “search for solutions” for the weekend of the Festival. The arrival of about 100,000 people in the city of Boom, and many are intended to agree on the spot. Dreamville campsite of the Festival will open as expected today, the organizers declared.

Several dozens of DJs and stars of electronic music, including David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Armin Van Buuren and Charlotte de Witte, will perform starting tomorrow for the first weekend, with two thirds of the events divided between the main stage, now destroyed, and the Freedom stage. Several hundred firefighters worked to save the main stage. The Anversa prosecutor has opened an investigation, although he said that the fire seems to be of accidental origin. Founded 20 years ago by two Belgian brothers, Tomorrowland has become an internationally renowned brand.
