A river of lights and silence: Capizzi’s embrace of Giuseppe Di Dio

A long river of people in poignant silence crossed the streets of Capizzi to honor the memory of Giuseppe Di Dio, in the aftermath of his funeral. A torchlight procession organized by young people, the parish and local associations, which started from Piazzale Tre Croci at the entrance to the town, which ran through the entire town centre, stopping in Via Roma in front of the site of last Saturday’s tragedy, to arrive at Piazza San Giacomo. Also present together with the municipal administration were several mayors of the district and political representatives of the area. A moment of reflection that the whole community wanted to dedicate to poor Giuseppe, calling everyone to find the serenity necessary to be able to leave behind such a horrible page of pain and look forward with renewed hope and confidence. Likewise, the torchlight procession wanted to send a message of awareness to
Institutions for greater attention and presence for the safety of everyone.
