The suspected perpetrator of the Magdeburg massacre, the 50-year-old Saudi Arabian Taleb Al Abdulmohsen, in 2013 threatened the doctors’ order of the Land of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to carry out a terrorist act.
This is what Spiegel reports, citing the Land Ministry of the Interior. The intimidation arose from a dispute over the recognition of exam results during his specialist training: the man allegedly telephoned threatening “actions of international resonance” and referring to the Islamic attack on the Boston Marathon, which had occurred only two days earlier, which caused the death of three people and injured over 260.
In September 2013, the Rostock District Court fined him for “disturbing the peace by threatening to commit crimes.” The authorities have meanwhile reported that, following the search of Al Abdulmohsen’s home in Bernburg, no evidence of preparation for the attack has so far been found.
