Tragic road accident in the night between Saturday and Sunday in the San Siro – Lampugnano area, in Milan. The violent collision between a motorbike and a car cost the life of 49-year-old Massimo Mesiani, born in Locri and resident in Milan, who was driving a Suzuki SV1000. The impact with the Citroen C3 driven by a 43-year-old man was extremely violent, ending up above the central traffic divider, knocking down a traffic light pole. Rescue efforts were useless for the Calabrian motorcyclist, who was thrown several meters and ended up on the asphalt: the medical staff who arrived on site were only able to confirm his death.
The driver of the car was instead transported under the green code to the San Carlo hospital in Milan, where he underwent the usual tests to check for the possible presence of alcohol or narcotic substances in his blood.
The public prosecutor on duty at the Milan prosecutor’s office ordered the seizure of the vehicles involved and the centaur’s helmet and the transfer of the body to the disposal of the judicial authority while the findings and exact reconstruction of the dynamics of the accident are entrusted to the local police officers.
Mesiani, who in the past had managed a restaurant in the province of Varese, had hit the headlines for his battle against closures and limitations on restaurant activities in the second tail of the Covid-19 pandemic. In February 2021, as reported by “Il Giorno”, he joined the protest carried out by a group of shopkeepers by posting a dissent flyer on the door of his restaurant, continuing to work.
