A serious road accident occurred today, Christmas Day, around 12.30 pm, in the town of Santa Caterina dello Ionio, along the Statale 106 Ionica. This was reported by the association “Enough victims on Strada Statale 106”.
One of the escort vehicles of the prosecutor of the Republic of Naples, Nicola Gratteri, was involved in the collision. However, the magistrate was not on board the armored car.
The injured and the rescued
Three people were injured in the accident: in addition to the occupants of the vehicle, two pedestrians who were near a commercial establishment. Everyone was rescued by healthcare personnel and transported to hospital under code orange.

The police intervened on site and carried out the necessary investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident.
