A road accident occurred on the SS280, towards Lamezia Terme, in the section following the Martelletto-Sarrottino junction. Two cars were involved in the accident, a Ford Focus station wagon and a Jeep Avenger.
The drivers of the vehicles suffered minor injuries and bruises and were rescued by 118 healthcare personnel, who entrusted them to appropriate care. The Fire Brigade team from the Catanzaro command intervened on site, engaged in operations to make the area and the accident vehicles safe, which were subsequently removed with the help of a mobile crane. Traffic police officers were also present for the relevant checks and Anas personnel to restore the safety conditions of the roadway.
Due to the accident there are traffic disruptions: traffic in the affected section is currently permitted on a single lane.
