He was obliged to stay in his home, but not for reasons related to health or other impediments. It was there because it is obliged by a restrictive measure ordered by the judicial authority, following criminal records. Yet that constraint was not enough to stop him from continuing an illegal activity that had transformed his home into a real central for packaging and drug dealing.
It happened in Pellaro, a populous fraction of Reggio Calabria. Here, a young man was arrested in the act of crime by the carabinieri of the local station, as part of a night control service aimed at people subjected to restrictive measures. A verification like many, which, however, has taken on very different contours from the first moment.
Once near the house, the military were immediately affected by a strong and pungent smell of marijuana from the inside. A detail that left no room for doubt. Suspicious, the carabinieri decided to proceed immediately to a search for the property.
In the kitchen, among the wardrobes, inside a cistern and even in the dog’s kennel: the amazing substance was hidden in every corner. Overall, the military found 1 kilo and 250 grams of marijuana and 25 grams of cocaine, already packaged in part and ready for distribution. Together with the drug, two precision balances were seized and everything you need for packaging the doses: cellophane sachets, adhesive tape and other tools used for the division and preparation of substances.
The entire material was seized, while the young man was declared in arrest for detention for the purpose of drug dealing and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
A result that confirms the determination and professionalism with which the soldiers of the Pellaro station carry out their work daily, with constant attention to respect for restrictive measures and punctual monitoring of risk situations, to guarantee safety and legality in the area.
