The excavations in the area of the Ezio Scida stadium will start after mid -August as part of the Antica Kroton project. This was announced by Stefania Argenti, Superintendent Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Crotone and Catanzaro, on the occasion of the visit to the city last week of the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli.
“By August – explained the MIC official who is also the only responsible for the intervention of the intervention which is close to start – we will start the work and immediately after mid -August we will begin with the excavations”. The goal – he added – is to prepare an “intelligent time schedule” that allows you to carry on the construction site in order not to interfere with the usability of the Azia Scida.
“We will dig and attack the part of the stadium – it was the reasoning of Argenti – only when the championship will be stopped, then in May, June and July next year”. As is known, Antica Kroton is an archaeological and urban enhancement project that between the Municipality of Crotone, the Region and the Ministry of Culture provides for investments for 61.7 million euros.
