It is the evening of October 31, 1999 when, inside the family oil mill in Benestare, the building contractor Antonio Musolino is killed by two hitmen. A crime left without culprits. A cold case that has been awaiting justice for 26 years. Not giving up is Domenico Musolino, the victim’s brother, who has never stopped fighting for the truth since then: «I still believe that those responsible can be brought to justice. I have written to all the institutions, up to the Presidents of the Republic, asking not to leave Totò’s crime in oblivion. It shocked my family and left a profound mark on our land.” Domenico, at the time a technician in his brother’s company, looks back on those days. Totò Musolino’s company was among the most important in the area, registered in the national builders’ register and authorized to negotiate with the Ministry, it carried out important public works: healthcare facilities, post offices, roads, aqueducts, sewers, schools and commercial buildings.
