The twenty-eighth edition of the Mediterranean Archaeological Tourism Exchange marks the debut of the Calabrian city in the most prestigious international circuit dedicated to the heritage of antiquity. For the first time in its recent history, the Municipality of Palmi made its official entry to the Mediterranean Archaeological Tourism Exchange (Bmta), the main exhibition focused on the archaeological heritage of the Mediterranean basin. «The valorization project promoted by Palmi is based on the exceptional consistency of the city’s archaeological heritage. A structured offer that finds its main hubs in three top-notch resources: the Tauriani archaeological park, key evidence of the ancient settlements of the area; the ecclesiastical complex and the crypt of San Fantino, a place of very high historical and spiritual density; the “De Rosa” antiquarium, custodian of the city finds inside the “Repaci” House of Culture». This triple pole represents the strategic resource with which Palmi intends to establish itself among the elite archaeological destinations of the South, raising the attractiveness of the local tourist offer. Representing the city was Carmelo Ciappina, councilor for Culture, Heritage and Cultural Activities, who proudly presented the treasures of the Taureana area to the audience of visitors and experts present in Paestum.
