In the Aula Magna of the “Antonello da Messina” Higher Education Institute, the round table entitled “Notes on Sicilian Cuisine” took place, an event of great cultural and educational importance dedicated to the valorization of Sicilian cuisine and food and wine.
Guests of honor at the event were the representatives of the international Disciples d’Auguste Escoffier association, a symbol of excellence in the world of catering. A presence that the school director, Daniela Pistorino, welcomed with enthusiasm. Present at the event were, among others, the regional president of the Disciples d’Escoffier, Giovanni Montemaggiore.

During one of the cooking shows, Montemaggiore himself presented a typical dessert of the Saccense tradition, the “Ova Murina”, a crepe filled with milk cream flavored with cinnamon and candied fruit, symbol of the simplicity and elegance of traditional pastry making. The two days were enriched by numerous training and tasting moments involving industry experts and associated teachers. During the “two days” a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the school and APOM – Association of Olive and Mediterranean Producers. The agreement is based on the promotion of the culture of extra virgin olive oil, a fundamental element of the Mediterranean Diet and Sicilian tradition.
