Jannik Sinner clearly beat Alexander Zverev and reached the final of the “Rolex Paris Masters”, the last ATP 1000 of the season, taking place on the hard courts of “La Defense Arena” in the French capital. In the second semi-final, the Italian tennis player, number two in the world and seeded, defeated the German, number 3 in the international ranking and third force on the draw, with a score of 6-0 6-1. Sinner appeared in great physical condition; while Zverev suffered some physical problems and above all the tiredness accumulated last night in the match won in the tie-break of the third set against Daniil Medvedev. Sinner’s run therefore continues in Paris and, if he wins the title, he would return to the top of the international rankings, once again overtaking Carlos Alcaraz, who left the scene on his debut in the French capital.

In tomorrow’s final the Italian, chasing the 23rd title of his career, the fifth of 2025, will face Felix Auger Aliassime, winner today in the first semi-final against the Kazakh Alexander Bublik, with a score of 7-6 (3) 6-4. Thanks to today’s success, the Canadian has overtaken Lorenzo Musetti in the Race live rankings and is now 160 points ahead of the Tuscan. Auger Aliassime and Musetti remain the last two tennis players fighting for the eighth and final place of the ATP Finals in Turin. In the final act of the 1000 in Paris, in case of victory, the Canadian would mathematically obtain the pass for the “Master” at the end of the season; in the event of a defeat, however, everything would be postponed to next week, with Musetti on the field in Athens and Auger Aliassime on stage in Metz.

Sinner’s words after the match

Sasha was definitely far from his 100%, he wasn’t well: it’s certainly not how anyone would want to win, I’m still taking this final and I’m happy to be able to play in it.” So Jannik Sinner after the match in which Zverev dominated 6-0 6-1. «Facing him is always a great opportunity – added the Italian – but he was in difficulty physically. He has had a wonderful journey so far and I hope he gets back to his best soon for Turin.” Tomorrow at the Defense Arena Sinner will face Felix Auger-Aliassime. «He is playing incredible tennis, he has improved a lot in recent months. I’m happy he reached the final, he’s one of the kindest people in the tournament and playing the final with him is special. I will try to enjoy the atmosphere then I will have two days to rest.”
