Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori lost against the Germans Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz in the third and final match of the round robin of the ATP Finals: 7-6(5) 4-6 13-11 the final result after about two hours of play. A painless defeat for the Azzurri, who were already certain of qualifying for the semi-finals and also secured first place in the «Peter Fleming» group.

After a very balanced and decisive first set in the tiebreak, in the second set Bolelli and Vavassori found the first break of the match in the third game, then successfully defending themselves from the attempted immediate counterbreak. The Italian pair had to face a great moment of difficulty in the eighth game, closed by a spectacular backhand from the Bolognese after having recovered from 15-40. At the super tiebreak, then, comes the immediate blue break, immediately recovered by the Germans. After a series of matchpoints for both pairs, the Germans’ mini break was decisive, allowing them to serve for the match and gain the satisfaction of closing the tournament with a victory, despite their elimination. The day will continue shortly with the match between Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, while at 8.30 pm it ends with the great match between Carlos Alcaraz and Lorenzo Musetti, with the Carrarino still hoping for a place in the semi-finals.
