Jannik Sinner reached the third round of the Masters 1000 tournament in Miami, beating Andrea Vavassori from Turin in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4. The Italian derby was suspended on Friday at 3-2 40-40 in the first set due to rain and postponed until the following day. Saturday's program was also disrupted by bad weather, with the first matches only starting in the afternoon. In the next round, the world no.2 will face the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor, who defeated the American Alex Michelsen two sets to one.

Victory also for the Italian Matteo Arnaldi, who beat the Kazakh Alexander Bublik 6-4, 6-1 to qualify for the third round of the tournament. The Sanremo player, n.38 in the ranking, after a good debut against the Frenchman Fils, eliminated the n.18 in the ranking in an hour, 1 and 19 minutes of play. Arnaldi's next match will be against the Canadian Denis Shapovalov, who got the better of the world no.11, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, with a score of 6-2, 6-4. The men's tournament in Florida is proving catastrophic for US players. Three of them were eliminated in sequence: Taylor Fritz (No. 12), Tommy Paul (No. 13) and Frances Tiafoe (No. 21).
