Jannik Sinner beat Ben Shelton and reached the semifinals of the “Rolex Paris Masters”, the last ATP 1000 of the season, taking place on the hard courts of “La Defense Arena” in the French capital. In the quarter-finals, the Italian tennis player, number two in the world and seeded, defeated the American, number 7 in the international ranking and fifth strength in the draw, with a score of 6-3 6-3. Sinner’s run therefore continues in Paris and, if he wins the title, he would return to the top of the international rankings, once again overtaking Carlos Alcaraz, who left the scene on his debut in the French capital. Furthermore, the South Tyrolean tennis player is today more than ever Lorenzo Musetti’s first “ally” in the race for a place at the ATP Finals in Turin. On the other side of the Parisian draw, Auger Aliassime and Bublik are in the semi-finals, both still in the running for the “Master” at the end of the year; while in tomorrow’s semi-final Sinner will challenge the winner of the match, scheduled for tonight, between Zverev and Medvedev (with the Russian still having residual hopes of qualifying for the Finals).
