Hours of intense work for the Fire Brigade due to the strong wind that has been hitting since midnight today Messina and the whole Province of Messina. The operational teams are working tirelessly to restore safety conditions, with interventions aimed at delimiting risk areas and removing unstable parts. In just a few hours, around 40 interventions have already been carried out, mostly linked to falling trees, detachments and damage caused by the wind. There are currently around twenty requests still waiting to be processed.
To deal with the emergency, the Provincial Command has ordered an increase in staff, strengthening the presence of personnel in the area to support the population. Among the most significant interventions are the road restoration operations in the hamlet of Quattropani, on the island of Liparifollowing a landslide, the cutting of a tree on the SP45 in the locality Take care of us and other complex operations also conducted with the aid of ladder trucks and SAF specialists.
The situation remains evolving and further updates are expected in the next few hours, while the Fire Brigade continues to monitor the area to prevent new dangers related to adverse weather conditions.
