In the last few hours, due to the adverse weather conditions that are affecting the area, numerous requests for intervention have been received in the operations rooms of the Crotone and Catanzaro Fire Brigade Commands.
The most significant critical issues are recorded in the municipalities of Botricello and Cropani, as well as in the seaside district of Catanzaro, where flooding and widespread presence of water in urban areas are occurring.
The Fire Brigade teams continue their assistance and support activities for the population without stopping, monitoring the evolution of the weather conditions and other critical issues present in the area.
Citizens are advised to pay attention, avoid unnecessary travel and not cross flooded areas or waterways, even if apparently shallow.
Intense rain for a few hours on the entire Ionian coast of Calabria where there has been disruption and flooding. The Civil Protection has communicated that threshold 2 has been exceeded for the rain that fell in the municipalities of Belcastro, Marcedusa and Botricello, in the Catanzaro area, causing some inconvenience to traffic. Flooding also occurred in Cropani, also in the Catanzaro area, while the rains on the Crotone coast were very heavy. Given the orange alert issued by the Civil Protection, many schools remained closed.
