The State Police arrested a 49-year-old Italian citizen who was the recipient of a European arrest warrant issued by the German authorities. The operation was carried out by officers of the Barcelona PG Railway Police, during targeted surveillance services on board the railway trains.

During the identification activities, the operators ascertained that the man had been wanted by the German authorities since the second half of August for various crimes committed on German territory. Following the investigations and checks carried out, the subject was accompanied to the competent police offices with the support of staff from the Capo D’Orlando PS Commissariat, where the usual formalities were completed.

At the end of the procedures, the forty-nine year old was associated with the “Vittorio Madia” prison in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority for the initiation of the procedures foreseen regarding extradition.
