Biennial of the Strait between Reggio, Campo Calabro and Messina: the Mediterranean “compass” for every vision of the future

Everything is ready for the final sessions of the second edition of the Biennale dello Strait, scheduled for 13, 14 and 15 December between Messina and Reggio.
The Strait Biennial, developed from a cultural project by the architect Alfonso Femia (Invisible Mediterraneans) is an event promoted by 500×100 and the Order of Architects of Reggio which investigates the theme of the territory and the Mediterranean in a critical and proactive way between Calabria and Sicily through talks, debates and exhibitions.
In Reggio, in particular, on Saturday 14th, appointment from 9.30 at the National Archaeological Museum with talks on “Water as a key, infrastructure as an event” with the architect Clément Blanchet, “Mediterranean futures” with Massimo Pica Ciamarra in dialogue with Luca Lanini, “Mediterranean architecture” with the architecture historian and critic Paul Ardenne, “Cultural Landscapes” brief reflection on the Strait Biennial by Alfonso Femia; then the awards ceremony with Giorgio Tartaro and Mariangela Cama. In the afternoon, from 3.30pmfocus on “Inhabiting the landscape” with Annalisa Metta and Luca Molinari, lecture on “Territories, geographies, topographies, trees and leaves” with Giancarlo Mazzanti and “Progetti in talk” with Nicola Russi, Andrea Margaritelli, Octavio Pineiro Aramburu, Giacomo Selleri , Michel Péna and Michelangelo Pugliese in dialogue with Annalisa Metta and Luca Molinari.
More tothe Museum, Sunday morning from 10am, reflections on “The cities of the future – Impronte” with the photographer Giulia Natalia Comito in dialogue with the journalist Giuseppe Smorto and on “Tracce memoire landscapes” with the writer Nadia Terranova, 2019 Strega Prize finalist, in dialogue with Giuseppe Smorto.
The closing, on the afternoon of Sunday 15th, at the Forte Batteria Siacci in Campo Calabro. From 2pm the debate on “Campo Calabro: town of art and architecture” with the mayor Rocco Alessandro Repaci, Salvatore Vermiglio of the steering committee of the Biennale dello Strait and the architect Alberto Idone. Grand finale, at 2.30 pm, with the talk on “The Biennale dello Strait as a project for the future” with the mayors of Reggio, Villa San Giovanni and Messina Giuseppe Falcomatà, Giusy Caminiti and Federico Basile, Ilario Tassone (president of the Order of Architects of Reggio and promoter of the Strait Biennial), Michele Laganà (Ance Reggio Calabria), Giacomo Chirico, Rosario Brandolino Salvatore Greco, Michelangelo Pugliese, Gaetano Scarcella, Luciano Marabello and Francesco Messina (scientific coordination of La Biennale dello Strait), Angela Pellicanò (art session) and Giuseppe Capicotto (steering committee of La Biennale dello Strait) in dialogue with Mariangela Cama, Alfoso Femia and Francesca Moraci.
