It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to browse and admire the Touring Club Red Guide dedicated to our Region, an edition that celebrates the beauty and richness of an extraordinary Calabria that Italy and foreign countries consider a popular tourist destination in all seasons of the year (Calabria Four Seasons).

This was stated by the regional councilor for Tourism, Giovanni Calabrese, presenting, today, in the Glass room of the Bit in Milan, the Touring Club Calabria Red Guide, together with the editorial director of the Touring Club Italiano, Ottavio Di Brizzi, and the regional Consul of the Touring Club for Calabria, Domenico Cappellano.

A journey through experiences and traditions

“This guide – specified the councilor -, created with the competence and passion of the Touring Club, and also presented at the National Center for Made in Calabria, represents a precious tool for all those who wish to immerse themselves in our land, where it will be possible to find fascinating itineraries, suggestions on places to visit, experiences to live and, above all, the opportunity to get to know our warm and welcoming people”.

Regional strategies and promotion of the territory

“Calabria is extraordinary and as a regional government, through careful planning by President Occhiuto who, in recent years, has foreseen specific strategies and investments for tourism, we are working to create the right synergies that will allow us to improve the quality of hospitality, transport, facilities, services, infrastructure and to also increase the Blue and Orange Flags.

Therefore, the Red Guide is an important tool for promoting our wonders, such as the pristine coasts, the natural parks, the cycle paths, the historic villages and archaeological sites, the spas, as well as the journeys of the roots with our Ambassador Region of the Jubilee 2025. Our objective – finally hoped the Calabrese councilor – is to improve it and fill it further with concrete contents so that it becomes a companion for the journey of the many tourists who will want to visit Calabria”.

Calabria in the heart of the Mediterranean

Di Brizzi declared that “it is thanks to the Region that we have managed to accomplish this small undertaking and create a single volume entirely dedicated to Calabria in all its declinations, because Calabria, even before Italy, is a Mediterranean Region which therefore attracts tourism from all over the world. The Guide not only provides certified information but maps all the riches of the region and invites you on a journey to discover and learn about the lesser-known aspects that change the narrative and experiences of a place”.

A historical and independent volume

“The Calabria Region – added Cappellano – presents today, for the first time, the new Red Guide: the largest collection of tourist guides, the oldest, which is also under the law of the Presidency of the Italian Republic. Previously in this collection there was the volume Basilicata and Calabria, while from this year to give a greater push to tourism promotion, there will be the Calabria Guide”.
