The controls of the carabinieri aimed at the contrast of irregular work and the verification of compliance with safety rules in the workplace continue. The activity, conducted by the Operational Unit of the Labor Protection Group of Naples, by the Inspectorate of Labor (Nil) of Vibo Valentia and the soldiers of the Spilinga stations, Nicotera Marina and Vibo Marina, has affected several construction site operating in the province. Five companies have been inspected, all found irregular, and checked twelve workers, three of which are irregular and two completely in black, that is, without contract and any social security protection. Precisely in relation to one of these cases, a provision of Suspension of the entrepreneurial activity, provided for by the legislation when the non -occasional employment of labor without regulating hiring is found.
The ascertained violations cover a large spectrum of safety legislation: absence of mandatory medical visits, failure to form workers, incomplete safety plans, scaffolding mounted in a different way, missing fences, internal organization of the lack of construction and construction materials that are dangerously stored. In some cases the lack of the technical project for the scaffolding, mandatory by law, was also detected. Results of the inspection activity:
• 5 people reported to the judicial authority;
• 5 inspected companies, all found irregular;
• 12 controlled workers, including 3 irregular and 2 in black;
• contested bets: € 16,851.67;
• High administrative penalties: € 10,300.00;
• Suspended entrepreneurial activity for non -regular use of labor.
The intervention is part of the frame of wider prevention and control activities promoted with determination by the Public Prosecutor of Vibo Valentia, which has long maintained attention to the protection of legality in the workplace. Under the supervision of the prosecutor Camillo Falvo, the provincial command of the carabinieri of Vibo Valentia operates with a widespread action in the sectors most exposed to exploitation phenomena, such as that of construction.
