The main hypothesis for the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paola is that of a voluntary gesture, which is investigating the death of a man of around 40 years of age who was found dead late yesterday afternoon in a pine forest near the sea in Scalea, on the Tyrrhenian Sea near Cosenza.
The man, apparently of Moldovan nationality, was found lifeless in the so-called Frangivento area, a vast tree-lined area between the beach and State Road 18, by a passer-by. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting that it had already been there for several days. The police from the local company, the prosecutor on duty and the medical examiner arrived on site. From the first investigations carried out on the body, elements emerged that suggest suicide by hanging. At the moment it was not clarified whether the man was a resident of Scalea or came from outside. The area in which his body was found is poorly frequented as well as poorly lit, despite being located not very far from the town center of Scalea.
