The Louvre Museum, the most visited in the world, is closed today for security reasons linked to the terrorism alert which has been raised to the highest level in France since yesterday. According to what was communicated by the management, the closure is due to “verification measures” in relation to the raising of the Vigipirate plan to the level of “attack emergency” after the attack that caused the death of a professor yesterday in Arras, in the north.
«For security reasons, the Louvre museum closes its doors for today. People who have booked a visit for today will be refunded” we read in a statement released by the museum on received a written message regarding risks to the museum and its visitors. Bomb alert also in Versailles
Evacuation underway at the Palace of Versailles, near Paris, after a bomb alert. According to what we learn, the alert arrived with an anonymous message on the police website. As happened in the morning with the Louvre museum, after the threat the Palace of Versailles will not reopen today.
